Broomleigh completes 230 new homes

Broomleigh enjoyed a highly successful year completing 230 much needed new homes including homes for part buy/part rent to give local people the opportunity to step on to the property ladder.

During the year we increased our Housing Corporation grant funding for 2006/2008 by 60%, putting us in a very strong position to provide even more new homes.

Broomleigh interim chief executive Nick Dudman said: “This has been a very important year for Broomleigh.  As well as developing new homes, we have invested significantly in our existing homes.  We also continue to receive confirmation from our residents that we are delivering a good service through year on year improvements on our customer satisfaction levels.”

Indeed, customer service has been a highlight of the year with an independent survey indicating 82% customer satisfaction from residents.  We were proud, too, to be ‘highly commended’ in the National Customer Service awards, as a formal recognition of our efforts.

We continue to invest in our residents’ homes, with over £18m spent during the year on improvements such as new bathrooms and kitchens as well as new heating.  We are on target to meet the Government’s Decent Homes Standard and should meet the 2010 deadline.

Broomleigh further developed its positive record in regeneration with involvement in major projects at Orpington, Elephant and Castle and Sutton. We will also be working closely with residents in Lewisham, following our selection to manage their homes at Orchard Court and Village Estate.

“Our achievements and our role within the Affinity Sutton Group place us in a very strong position to provide even greater choice and service to existing and new residents over the coming years,” said Nick Dudman.

More information on our performance during the year can be found in our Affinity Sutton Group annual review under Publications.
